Most of the traditional Saudi dances originated on war occasions, as their first performance was on a military march or as part of a war dance, or they gained their fame during the war period, the most famous of which is the war dance, the beginning of which was famous for"Najd Shamet", as well as the northern daha dance, the Hijazi tush, and the asirian or southern step.

Traditional dances are treated as a cultural heritage that does not accept innovation, and then developed due to political pluralism, as some dances share the same or similar performance with some neighboring countries, and sometimes the same name or music is used for those dances
